HOOK-UP AND OPERATIONS FOR A 12-VOLT QUARTZ TIMER MODULE
DESCRIPTION:
This is a 12-volt timer. Powered by a 12-volt battery. The timer can be configured as a 24-hour 7-day timer capable of feeding at 30-minute multitude intervals or 1 time per day. Do not attempt to set timer trippers less than 30- minuets apart.
OUT
PUT:
Is a solid-state integrated circuit which has been proven in the field for over 20-years.
SETTING
TIME:
Rotate the dial by turning the minute hand clockwise until the time of day on the outer dial is aligned with the triangle maker on the inner dial (two o’clock position). Example for a 24-hour program dial 10:30AM is aligned with the triangle on the inner dial. The hour and the minute dial will show exactly 10:30AM.
PROGRAMMING:
Pushing the captive tripper to the outer ring position can set the timer. You may set tripper for once a day or every 30 minutes. When the tripper is pushed to the inside, the switch is in the off position.
MODULE PLACEMENT:
Place the module on the left side of
container. Screw terminal board
needs to be on right side for motor and battery hook-up.
If you wish to use the Velcro to keep your module from moving around in
the feeder when you lower or raise you barrel, to fill with corn.
Use of Velcro is optional.
BATTERY
CONNECTION:
· To connect the battery lead to Battery Screw Terminal board, loosen screws. Make sure you connect POS. RED conductor wire to the POS. "+" screw and NEG Black Conductor wire to the NEG "-" screw.
· Connect the wires from the Battery Terminal Board to the POS. and NEG post on your battery. Make sure again to connect the POS. Red wire to the POS. post and the NEG Black to NEG post. CAUTION: Damage to circuit will result if connected improperly. Also, make sure that the battery is well charged; a weak battery can cause the motor to cycle (cut off and on or urn all the time), which may eventually burn the circuit. Keep the battery well charged to avoid damage to the circuit. Keep the battery well charged to avoid damage to the circuit.
· Connect "POS." red motor wire to Motor screw "+" Terminal Board and "NEG" black motor wire to "NEG" "-" Terminal Board, which is located next to Battery Terminal Board on side of the control unit. Connect the motor wires to your motor, making sure you have covered the terminals with the slip over heat shrink.
· The PRESS TO TEST switch operates the motor. As a safety feature, test switch will not function until clock face has passed trippers. This takes about 15 minuets. It takes 21 seconds for capacitor to recharge. PRESS TO TEST can operate every 21 seconds at other times.
· The variable resistor marked RUN TIME on controller will allow the "ON" time to range from approximately one to twenty seconds. Turning it counter clockwise will produce more run time.
The amount of feed-out is controlled by the run time setting on controller and distance of spinner from feed shoot. The operator can adjust the two settings to vary the amount of feed dispersed. A distance of about 5/8" is adequate.
