These batteries are imported from China.  Avoid total discharging with this battery as in any dry cell battery. If taken care of you can get 3 to 5 years of use.  By this we mean recharge before it is totally discharged.  It can be kept charged with our 100ma solar panel.  If you do not use a solar panel you will need to recharge this battery with a 12-volt DC charger.  How often would depend on the amps motor and timer draws and how often you feed a day and the length of time your feeder runs.  (Example our 12-volt quartz timer would use more amps than the AA quartz and digital timers. Our motor draws only 4.5 at start up and drops less than 3 running.)
