How strong should the
solar panel be for our 12-volt quartz timer? How much sun is required for a
solar panel? Feeding 6 seconds twice a day how much corn will I
use? How long will my battery last with out
recharging it? How long will my 12-volt quartz timer last with out
recharging the battery? How long will battery last if it stays below
freezing for a week at a time? What is the recommended distance the spinner be
from the feed shoot?
The solar panel should be 100ma.
We recommend at least 6 hours of direct sun facing southwest.
If the spinner is set a distance of 5/8" from the feed shoot
and you have a varmint guard on your feeder you will probably be feeding from 2 and 1/2 to
3 lbs. a day.
You can get up to a year without recharging the battery feeding twice a day
for about 6 seconds with a timer that operates off of its own battery.
It would depend on how long and how often you set your feeder to
operate. In some instances it could need to be recharged every
month. In cases when it is being used to run every hour you would
need to recharge the battery every week. It can last up to 2 months.
We do recommend a solar panel to keep this timer running accurately at all
times.
We recommend that you use a solar panel to keep your battery
charged.
A distance of 5/8".
